Online games are nerdy enough (enjoyable though) without bringing in the ultimate nerd debate. I feel a disgusting beard growing just reading this post.

For some reason those two just don't go well together.
I'll always be partial to Star Trek because its just more vast. Star Wars is limited to the universe you see in the 6 movies. The universe of Star Trek has had Hundreds of hour long episodes constantly expanding it.
And Picard > Star Wars.

Then how exactly do we compare them? Comapring the Star Wars movies to the Star Trek television series is like comparing apples and oranges. One was designed to have multiple stories; the other to share just 1.
The only thing left is the books which, frankly, aren't that good in most cases. The Original Zhan trilogy for Star Wars wins I suppose, before he started messing up Mara Jade. Anything after that is pretty bad. However, the novelized version of All Good Things was considerably better than the television presentation of TNGs finale and i consider it a very good piece. Most Star Trek novels win the quality award--though barely in the ones I've read--with only a few shining examples form the Star Wars overshadowing them.
For the TV versus Movie: its a classic case of Quantity over Quality. So to settle that; Star Wars (under the OPs restrictions) has 3 movies of excellent story quality with great special effects. Star Trek has ream after ream of episodes, each excellent quality for television in the era that they were televised and many bordering on ground breaking in their socio-political stance.
If I were stuck on a desert island and had to choose what to watch for the rest of my life--which to bring (the 3 good Star Wars movies or the Star Trek series) I'd take all those epidsodes from the original series, TNG, DS9 (all time fav series on television), even (ugh) Voyager and Enterprise. And after all thats said...

I like them both equally.
Starwars is a (or use to be) a short three movie story that you could enjoy in one day. It had a good story line and loveable characters. Therefore it was a good watch.
Star Trek on the other hand has many good plots, character, and has a good sense of humor. However only the original and TNG are any good, and because the series is go long you can not watch it all in one sitting.
So overall I would say I like them both the same, I am neither a huge fan nor a hater of either.

Huh?
There's quite a few Star Trek ships:
-USS Enterprise class (original/refit/A-model)
-USS Sarratoga (Reliant, Wrath of Khan)
-USS Excelsior (prototype transwarp platform)
-USS Enterprise (TNG Galaxy class)
-USS Enterprise (TNG Sovereign class)
-USS Phoenix (experimenal warship)
-USS Voyager (Intrepid class)
-USS Defiant (advanced Fed warship)
-Federation Nebula-class
-Klingon Bird of Prey
-Klingon K'Tinga (original series Klingon battle cruiser)
-Klingon Vorcha (TNG modern attack heavy cruiser)
-Klingon N'ehvar (sp? modern klingon battleship)
-Romulan Bird of Prey (original series)
-Romulan Deridex Warbird (TNG Romulan cruiser)
-Romulan Valdore (Nemesis)
-Borg Sphere
-Borg Cube
-Borg Tactical Cube (heavy battleship)
-Borg Diamond (command cruiser)
-Species 8472 Bioship (wow!)
-Jem'haddar warship
-Jem'haddar battleship
That's just off the top of my head... and I count a lot more than 10

I really like them both but when it comes down to it, I actually own more Star Wars stuff.
Oh, and two words: Darth Vader.
